About Us

Doctor Inspired Formulations (DIF) began in a very practical way—by listening to how clinicians were actually using products with their patients. At a clinical conference, one physician shared how a botanical powder recommended in everyday care was measured and used variably by different patients. We saw an opportunity to make that process simpler and more consistent by creating a standardized, encapsulated option that would be easier for both providers and patients to use.

That first project became our first product, Mimosa Pudica Essentials. Soon after, a similar need surfaced at another conference, leading to the development of our Liposomal Artemisinin Essentials. As interest from clinicians grew, it became clear that these practice-driven formulations had outgrown a traditional compounding workflow, prompting the creation of Doctor Inspired Formulations as a dedicated company in 2012.

Doctor Inspired Formulations was originally developed and launched in collaboration with Hopkinton Drug Compounding Pharmacy in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. While that pharmacy is no longer in operation, its pharmacist-led, clinically focused approach continues to shape how we develop products today.
